MSU University Health and Wellbeing’s (UHW) supports a university community with health and wellbeing equitably woven throughout all aspects of Spartan life, enhancing accessibility and safety through a culturally sensitive and holistic lens.
MSU University Health and Wellbeing is focused on supporting physical, mental, and social health and wellbeing of all students, faculty, and staff. We achieve this by providing comprehensive support, compassionate care, valuable education, impactful advocacy, behavior change initiatives, and meaningful connections through our four pillars:
- Mental Health & Trauma Services & Support
- Health Promotion & Engagement
- Campus Health Services
- Central Administration
UHW is undertaking a collaborative process with our stakeholders to assess MSU community needs, prevalent health trends, gaps in services and potential solutions to issues. To assess your health and wellbeing, we will ask you questions about 8 dimensions of wellbeing:
- Emotional
- Occupational
- Intellectual
- Environmental
- Financial
- Social
- Physical
- Spiritual
Data collected from the assessment will inform a strategic plan to guide work, set priorities and allocate resources of the division and our partners over the next five years. UHW will release the plan in Spring 2024 and will adopt the Okanagan Charter.
UHW wants to hear how we can support you.
UHW would like to hear from you about your health and wellbeing challenges and needs. As part of the Assessment, we will gather in-depth, contextualized input through focus groups and broad input by way of a survey. We encourage you to participate in focus groups and an anonymous survey to not only share how you are doing, but also provide information to help us understand and address the unique health and wellbeing needs of our campus community, foster academic, and professional success, and contribute to a healthier, more supportive, resilient, and health promoting environment. UHW and its partners are doing this project to create a community of care for all Spartans today and in the years to come. However, the factors that contribute to this must reflect the needs of all MSU students, faculty and staff.

All students, faculty and staff will be sent the survey through their MSU emails on January 9, 2024. We encourage you to set time to complete the survey as soon as possible.
