Mindfulness: A Tool for Facing External Stressors
Mindfulness can be an essential tool for facing external stressors, especially during uncertain times. It's important to recognize that people may not always be at their best, and by creating space for the wide range of emotions others may be feeling, we can approach interactions with greater compassion and respect. It’s normal to struggle with uncertainty and experience feelings of anxiety, fear, or anger, and it’s equally important to take care of your own wellbeing. Whether it’s taking a break from the news, going for a walk, or spending time with loved ones, finding time for self-care can make a big difference.
Remember, University Health and Wellbeing (UHW) has resources to support all Spartans. Students can access services like CAPS Connect and Togetherall, while employees have support through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and the crisis line, available after hours. Additionally, UHW offers resources for all Spartans, such as Rest with Music and Spartan Resilience programs like “Becoming a Good Gatekeeper of Your Own Nervous System”. Check out our website for resources and visit msuvote.msu.edu to learn more about early voting and ways to get engaged.
