Host a 2024 Holiday Food Drive

The winter holidays are approaching, and many people are thinking of ways to give back to the community. Is your organization looking a for a meaningful way to give back during the holidays? Let's make a difference together! The MSU Student Food Bank supports over 300 individuals and families every week who are facing food insecurity. Contact us at foodbank@msu.edu for more information or to get started on your own drive! 

 

Looking for a creative way to give back this year? In addition to the standard canned good food drives, which are always welcome, you can add some spice to your food drive by holding a:

  • Spice Drive: Collect culturally preferred spices to enhance meals.
  • Oil Drive: Cooking oils, like olive oil, are some of our most requested items.
  • Personal Hygiene Drive: Soap, shampoo, deodorant, razors—these essentials make a big difference.
  • Baking Supplies: Flour, sugar, vanilla, and other baking ingredients help create comfort and connection through food.
  • Baking Kits/Mixes Drive: Brownie, cake, or dessert mixes are perfect for a fun and simple drive.
  • Snack Drive: Prepackaged snacks like goldfish or granola bars are great for students and families.
  • Condiment Drive: Soy sauce, hot sauce, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, salsa, BBQ sauce, salad dressings, vinegar, sriracha—these condiments are in high demand.
