Out of the Darkness MSU Campus Walk

Did you know suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death among people ages 15-241?

Across the nation, college campuses are recognizing the importance of mental health and suicide prevention. Every year, MSU loses students who die by suicide.

University Health and Wellbeing Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) is once again collaborating with the Michigan Chapter of American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to hold an Out of the Darkness MSU Campus Walk. Scheduled for April 26, the walk will bring together MSU and local community members to promote suicide prevention, remember loved ones lost, and let people know that they are not alone.

I encourage you to participate and show your support for the mental health of our students, faculty, and staff. This is also a great team-building opportunity—gather and recruit a team to fundraise and walk together in support of this important cause.
