Individual Wellness Coaching
Your wellbeing plays a critical role in your overall success at MSU. It encompasses physical health, mental clarity, life satisfaction, social connections, and a sense of purpose. While school can be stressful, taking care of your wellbeing can help you not only perform better academically, but also live a happier, healthier, and more fulfilling life.
Wellness coaching is a free, three-month program offered at no cost for MSU students to help improve wellbeing, boost confidence, and achieve personal goals.
Your first session will last about 1 hour and follow-up sessions will be scheduled for 30 minutes on a bi-weekly basis. Appointments can be in person or virtual.
In wellness coaching sessions, your coach will support you by:
Identifying priority areas for change and growth.
Exploring the benefits of creating positive habits.
Recognizing barriers to your success and developing manageable solutions.
Creating a personalized action plan with clear, achievable goals.
Offering ongoing accountability, problem-solving, and skill-building strategies to help you stay on course.
Referring to other campus resources as needed for additional support.
Group Wellness Coaching
Wellness coaching isn’t just for one-on-one sessions—it can also be a valuable group experience. Group wellness coaching is available free of charge for registered student organizations, academic classes, and other MSU-affiliated student groups. Group size must be at least 10 individuals.
In a group setting, students can share experiences, address common challenges, and develop strategies to overcome obstacles together.
Group coaching sessions are designed to:
Offer a supportive environment for students to work through shared wellness concerns.
Identify challenges and barriers and come up with strategies to overcome them.
Foster a sense of community as students work together to improve their well-being.
Help participants create and implement wellness action plans and set achievable goals to thrive both academically and personally.
