Music can heal, calm, and change our mood. It can regenerate our body, mind, and spirit. Health Promotion and Engagement invites you to take an hour out of your month to listen and Rest with Music. There will be live musical performances featuring a variety of musical styles and genres. These events are free, require no registration, and take place at Abrams Planetarium from 12:10 - 12:50 pm.

The ‘SET for Success’ mini-series, presented by UHW, offers a suite of 45-minute virtual wellbeing classes designed for MSU faculty, staff, and graduate Students. Focusing on three key health topics—Sleep, Ergonomics, and Time Management—this series provides valuable insights and practical tips to help participants make positive lifestyle changes at work and home.

Details: Quality sleep is vital for our health yet isn’t always easy to come by. According to the CDC, more than one in three Americans are sleep-deprived. This class will explore the science of sleep, the impact sleep has on overall health and wellbeing, and how to improve your sleep quality.
Learning Objectives: Discuss the physiological importance of sleep. Identify the purpose of sleep for the body/mind. Describe the elements of good “sleep hygiene” and why consistency is the key in developing good sleep habits and preventing many sleep-related issues.

Details: Regardless of your role and daily job tasks at MSU, everyone benefits from an ergonomically sound workplace. This session will explore the basics of ergonomics, injury prevention, how to set up your workstation, standing desk use, and stretches/exercises to help reduce the risk of work-related pain. The recommendations in the class can be applied in your on-campus or home office.
Learning Objectives: Identify common ergonomic stressors in the workplace. Learn strategies to avoid injury. Best practices for an ergonomically-friendly workspace.

Details: If your ‘to-do’ list never stops growing and time is of the essence- you’re not alone. With finite hours and so many demands to our mental bandwidth, it’s easy to fall into a cycle of stress related to the daily time-crunch. While we can’t borrow or bottle time, this class will explore strategies to more efficiently allocate our minutes, streamline workflow, and relieve some pressure in the process.
Learning Objectives: Exploring effective strategies for time management. Improve skills that may help reduce strain related to task accomplishment and time constraints.
