Philanthropy powers UHW’s purpose. Thanks to the generous support of donors and partners, we’re able to invest in bold ideas, support our campus community, and shape a healthier future.
In 2025, more than $400,000 was raised to support essential programs and services.
The Give Green Day campaign, which occurs annually in March, raised more than $24,000 (an increase of 67% from 2024).
These funds specially supported Center for Survivors Safe Place Shelter and the Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities (RCPD) Building Opportunities for Networking and Discovery (BOND) program.
The Food Bank and Basic Needs Program received phenomenal support during the year.
Donor dollars helped to fund the opening Spartan Shelf, offering expanded hours and a self-shop model, which allows students to shop for their own groceries and personal care items in a dignified, choice-based environment with evening and weekend hours.
More than 47 MSU colleges and units participated in holiday donations drives across campus in November and December. High-demand items, such as spices, cleaning supplies, baking supplies, hygiene items, cooking oil, sauces, and condiments were collected for Spartan Shelf locations.
Throughout the year, more than 21,542 pounds of donated foods and essentials were collected, which was especially vital during the SNAP benefit disruption caused by the government shutdown.
The Junior League of Lansing awarded a $2,500 grant to support the purchase of culturally inclusive food and cooking supplies, helping Spartans build confidence in preparing a wider range of meals and fresh produce.
