The new semester can mean new stressors for many. In 2024, 72% of MSU students reported experiencing stress.1 As assignments and deadlines add up, our Mindful STATE Days offer a chance to pause and reset before stress takes hold.
Join fellow Spartans for two days of mindfulness and meditation activities. These events will help you reconnect with your most grounded, creative, and present self, all while enjoying some of MSU’s most beloved spaces:
Thursday, September 4
Meditation Station | 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Beal Botanical Garden
Drop in for grounding exercises, meditation, and take-home resources to support your wellbeing.
Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation | 1 to 2 p.m. | Zoom
Explore the benefits of mindfulness and meditation, learn about simple exercises, ask questions, and connect with like-minded Spartans. Registration is required through Learning Stream.
Loving Kindness Concert | 4 to 5 p.m. | Beaumont Tower
Unwind and connect with your inner health and wellbeing. While resting in this peaceful setting, we will guide you to offer loving kindness to yourself, fellow Spartans, and humans experiencing suffering around the world.

Brief Mindfulness Practices | 1 to 2 p.m. | Zoom
Learn from MSU Extension Health Educators about practices to connect you to focused attention, mindful breathing, and body awareness. Staff will also provide tips to cultivate your own mindfulness practice. Registration is required through Learning Stream.
