Support Spartans This Season: Host a Donation Drive

Food and basic needs insecurity is a reality for many Spartans. In 2024, the Michigan State University Food Bank and Basic Needs Program served more than 16,000 community members.

As the need grows, the MSU Food Bank and Basic Needs Program continues to find ways to keep shelves stocked. However, some of the most requested items, such as cleaning supplies, personal hygiene products, and seasonings and sauces, can only be sourced through donations.

This giving season, MSU colleges, units, and registered student organizations are invited to come together to host donation drives. Each group can tailor their drive to their interests and capacity by choosing a theme, collection location, and timeline. All drives must conclude with donations delivered to Spartan Shelf-Olin by December 30. From there, MSU Food Bank and Basic Needs Program staff and volunteers will distribute items to students in need.
