Experience the inaugural Healing Art Showcase, hosted by Counseling and Psychiatric Services in partnership with the College of Arts and Letters, and the MSU Student Union. From March 9–13, the MSU Student Union Lobby will feature student artwork inspired by the theme “Stories of Community and Home,” highlighting the many ways Spartans express belonging, identity, and mental health through creative mediums. Stop by throughout the week to explore the diverse pieces on display and support MSU student artists as they share their stories with the campus community.
An art reception and award ceremony will be held on March 12 from 4:30–7 p.m. in the Lake Huron Room.
2025 Theme: Stories of Community and Home
This year’s theme, Stories of Community and Home, invites students to explore the places, people, cultures, memories, and relationships that shape belonging. “Home” may be a physical location, a tradition, a shared language, or an emotional space. “Community” may emerge through culture, collective experiences, support networks, or moments of joy or grief.
Students are encouraged to submit work that interprets the theme through a mental health lens.
Eligible Submission Types
The Art Review Committee welcomes a wide range of mediums, including:
- Paintings
- Drawings
- Sculptures

- Digital art and installations
All submissions must align with the theme. Due to space limitations, not all submissions may be selected for display.
