At the Center for Survivors (CFS), we are committed to services that promote safety, healing, empowerment, and dignity. Our work is guided by the belief that survivors are the experts in their own experiences and have the right to make decisions about their lives and healing.
You Have the Right to Be Treated with Respect and Dignity
You will be treated with compassion, respect, and dignity in a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment.
You Have the Right to Culturally Honoring Services
You will receive services that recognize and respect your experiences, identities, values, beliefs, and cultural background. We strive to create an environment that is affirming of all individuals, including differences in language, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, economic status, geographic location, sexual orientation, gender identity, and family structure.
You Have the Right to Survivor-Centered Support
Your needs, concerns, wishes, safety, and well-being will guide our work together. We are committed to honoring your goals and priorities.
You Have the Right to Choice and Self-Determination
You have the right to decide which services you would like to receive and whether to participate in them. You may accept, decline, or discontinue services at any time. Decisions about reporting, medical care, legal involvement, and other options belong to you.
You Have the Right to Healing-Focused Services
Our priority is supporting your healing, recovery, and well-being. We recognize that healing looks different for every survivor and happens at your own pace.
Participation in external systems, such as the criminal legal system, is never required to receive services and will not be prioritized over your well-being.
You Have the Right to Trauma-Informed Care
You will receive services from professionals who understand the impact of trauma and strive to prevent re-traumatization while recognizing your strengths, resilience, and individual healing journey.
You Have the Right to Inclusive and Non-Discriminatory Services
You have the right to receive services free from discrimination, harassment, or exclusion. The Center for Survivors does not deny services or discriminate based on actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, height, weight, familial status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected status.
You Have the Right to Accessible Services
We are committed to reducing barriers to services. You have the right to reasonable accommodations and language access services that support meaningful participation in our programs.
You Have the Right to Privacy and Confidentiality
You will be informed about confidentiality practices, including any legal limits to confidentiality. We are committed to protecting your personal information and respecting your privacy.
You Have the Right to Ask Questions and Provide Feedback
You have the right to ask questions about services, policies, and your rights as a client. You may provide feedback, voice concerns, or file a complaint without fear of retaliation or loss of services.
