Purpose and Guiding Principles

Statement of Purpose

We believe in the strength and resiliency of all people impacted by interpersonal violence. We stand with survivors against all forms of social injustice by promoting individual healing and building an empowered, inclusive community.

Guiding Principles:

  • Our work is grounded in a trauma-informed approach, recognizing the impact of trauma on individuals and communities.
  • Our work is rooted in intersectionality, acknowledging and addressing the ways in which overlapping identities shape experiences of harm and healing.
  • Our work centers survivors, prioritizing their voices, autonomy, safety, and needs in all that we do.
  • Our work is empowerment-based, fostering choice, agency, and resilience for those we serve.
  • Our impact is strengthened when staff are supported in their own growth and well-being, recognizing that those we serve are best supported by professionals who are resourced, valued, and well.
